Cosplay — Bobby Abate

Cosplay. From around 2012 to 2019, I regularly attended Queer figure drawing nights at gay bars in Williamsburg, organized by the late, great John Jennison. These nights were an escape from my day job editing reality TV. I was tired of staring at a computer screen all day and desperate to get back to the physical act of drawing. Those weekly salons didn’t just recharge me—they directly informed the designs for my Outsider Tarot deck, which I published in 2021.
